Hugs, Prayers, Love

I am asking myself today how, if we say we love the Lord, we can also hate so deeply people made in God’s own image. James 3:9-10 says “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.” The only true healing in our hearts, families, communities and nation is found in Jesus. Our own hearts humbled before Him in acknowledgement of our sins and in repentance turning from them, accepting His forgiveness. Then, offering to others the love, grace and mercy Jesus has extended to us. It is a journey, and He does not ask us to be perfect, but to surrender our “rights” to Him. He is in control when everything seems out of control. He will right every wrong. The ministry He has given us to do is to love, be His hands and feet in a hurting world and do it all over again tomorrow.
